I like cats. I like drawing and painting cats. I don’t know why, so I can’t it explain it to you. I suppose I just like drawing and painting the complicated little nightmares.
The gallery below features some of my cat paintings. For some paintings, I work on watercolour paper and use mixed media, especially wax crayons and oil pastels which react with the watercolour paint to create a cool effect. I also enjoy the effects that salt, alcohol and Winsor and Newton’s granulation medium create.
I also paint cats on canvas. Sometimes I use only one type of paint, other times I will mix media and use oil paint, acrylic, oil pastels and colour pencils on one canvas. It just depends on what materials I feel like engaging with.
